I feel as if my school could be one of the targets for such hatered. I fear that one day if I come to school I may too be shot and killed. If only I knew why people do this I would never even worry , but it all ends up all hate. If I could tell the world it's all right but I can't I just hope everyone can live safely.

Once the accident happened in Colorado the principal at my junior high school was going around checking us with medal detectors just that one time. He didn't check us anymore afterwards. Our school colud have been shot up. If they are going to check us, check us everyday not just once. Now at the high school I attend there were these two boys into it and a boy bought a gun to school. The boy went and told the principal. The principal did like my junir high principal. She just checked us one time and that's it. Someone could be bringing a gun to school right know and the principals don't even know it.

I think schools are not safe enough. I'm scared to death every morning to go to school. If this happens here this would be really bad. Also if this did happen I would be the only child.I think we need better and safer schools so kids don't have to be scared to go to school.Today is the day the shooting happened a year ago. We are in lock Down in the school and have had bomb threats.

Gandhi said, "Peace is the path to peace." Propaganda of violence and immorality in general plague the minds of all people. Teenagers go through this very unusual stage called puberty. This phase in an individuals life includes physical, emotional, sexual, and mental development and maturity. In essence it is a very confusing stage in ones life, and because of such confusion, they are vulnerable. I am not surprised that such a haneous act occured! But it is, in truth, no ones fault but our own. What do we expect when all we do is advocate hatred and violence. We as a society CANNOT be passive in such a matter. The youth has got to know that we care and that part of caring about people is not tolerating immoral and unlawful behavior such as violence. Bad Kids 99' state that "At the age of five, children possess moral and cognitive maturity." Therefore, there is no excuse for what they did and it again is only our fault for not enforcing what is moral. I am a sophmore in high school and I can tell you right now that our High School does not tolerate anything damaging to any person such as discrimination, play fighting, or things such as that. I don't have to worry about being shot or blown up in my school because the codes we as a school enforce are based on moral principles. If peace is the path to peace then we can assume that hatred is the path to hatred, violence is the path to violence, neglecting our kids will lead to neglected kids, and immorality will lead to immorality. I mean come on, don't expect to get something if you put nothing into it. I am sorry for the parents this happened to. I firmly believe, as a devout Roman Catholic, that consolement can come from Christ. God bless all those who have been hurt by this act and for the murders..."Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do!"

Yesterday we had a kid pull a gun on another student and if that was not bad enough this past monday our board of education had a bomb threat to all of our high school. What are people thinking these days? Who is taking responsibility? Someone needs to stand up and say something. If this keeps happening everyone will be scared to go to school. I know I am!

I work at an elementary school everyday after school. Today, there was a threat there. That is grades 5th-8th. I dont see how kids at such a young age could have so much anger that they would threaten kids. It makes me sick to my stomach. Last semester at my high school, a kid got expelled and arrested for writing a letter to a friend saying how he wanted to blow up our school. After Columbine I kept telling people that it would never happen to my school. But you know what it did. It scares me. Help stop school violence!
