I have family who live in Kiziltoprak, Istanbul. I would appreciate hearing from anyone in this area of Istanbul regarding the earthquake.

My father Tom Blackwood is British and has been working for Marconi at the Golcuk naval base for the past 2 weeks. Please if anyone knows anything about him can you contact our family. All the reports we have seen have said nothing about any westerners. We have been unable to contact him and would desperately like to know that he is okay. He is 65 years old. To the best of my knowledge, Kýzýltoprak is free of any earthquake damage at the time I post this mail (4.47pm local time, 08/20).

This goes out to Stephanie Wong - How can you be so cruel and uncaring? No one deserves this kind of natural tragedy to happen to them. Have you no common decency and sympathy for the men, women and innocent children who have died and have lost their entire families? They love their families as much as any others. Serious earthquake hit Turkey on the 17 th of August at 03:02 AM with a magnitude of 7.4 lasting 45 seconds killing more than 7000 people and wounding at least 20,000... The agony of not being able to help those who lie burried under piles of concrete is very strong. Thanks to all nations who are giving us a helping hand.
