I am in Elizabeth City, NC. As of the present time, just heavy rain and some wind gusts. But the real test will come in the AM after Floyd comes ashore and heads inland. Lots of tornadoes in Pitt, Pamlico, and Craven counties earlier this PM.

Any word on tugboats on the Chesapeak Bay, especially the Donna Kay run by Vane line bunkering will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on Treasure Cay, Abaco. A member of my church family is praying for information on her sister and brother-in-law -- Anita and Brian Petty. If you have any word e-mail me at jsgreen@datasync.com. May God bless those in the path of Floyd

To someone in Daytona: We live in the Ft. Worth, TX area and have a son attending ERAU who evacuated to Tampa. We have kept in touch by phone. I was able to find out via Internet that ERAU would be back in class Friday. Has anyone heard if that is still true? And what about DBCC? He plans to call me for an update and I'm tryng to find out for him. Thanks for the info. God answered our prayers in nudging Floyd away from Florida!

We got word today that the homes on Winding Bay are still standing with their
roofs intact. A pilot out of Ft. Lauderdale flew over Winding Bay, Cotton
Bay and Windermere and reported that the roofs looked okay from the air. The
VentaClub on Winding Bay is leveled and the RockSound airport is under 4ft.
of water with the old terminal gone. Most damage appears to be north of GH.
There is lots of debris blocking the Queen's HWY.

More later...

Before 11 pm tonight (wed) we talk via the phone to officials in marsh harbour
They confirmed that hope town was washed away and that all surrounding islands
were very much devastated.
HOWEVER they also confirmed that there was no one missing on any islands
and no loss of lives reported.
Every one accounted for so far.
Had visual contact with all islands at this time.
Told stories of how 60 foot yacht was on the sand sticking straight up in marsh harbour
Repeat they say all islands are hit bad hope town the worse so far.
green turtle second in severe damage.
But repeat ALL LIVES accounted for nothing but minor injuries
they do have contact with cherokee and everyone seems to be ok they say
thanks for your prayers and we will continue support for others as we have talk to our family
on marsh harbour via phone twice now 🙂

Update on Power loss in SC
WIS just announced that there are just over 200,000 homes without power along the SC coast. They did not give a distribution of where they are. (Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Beaufort, etc.)

I DO have power in my office on Broad Street in downtown Charleston(as of 10:15pm Wed.) I do not have power at home in Mount Pleasant.

Mt. Pleasant status
I don't know much, but I did call a neighbor of mine in Harborgate Shores who said they have been without power since 4:00pm today(Wed). He said that he lost a couple trees, but no major damage that he can tell from looking out his door. Still too windy to go outside.

I live in Cape Carteret, North Carolina, we are sustaining strong winds right now at 2:20a.m., several tornado's have touched down, especially in Emerald Isle, NC and Morehead City, NC. In Emearld Isle, one house got the roof blown off, and 3 others have suffered serious damage! One is totally destroyed, but I'm one mile from the Emerald Isle brige, I have no damages in my area, but wind and rain.
