"One cannot help being reminded of the famous experiments conducted by the American psychologist
Stanley Milgram among student-volunteers at Yale university in 1974, to investigate thresholds of
willingness among subjects who had been invited to inflict pain. According to a later commentator,
Zygmunt Bauman: "Perhaps the most striking among Milgram's findings is the inverse ratio of
readiness to cruelty and proximity to its victim. It is difficult to harm a person we touch. It is
somehow easier to inflict pain upon a person we only see at a distance. It is still easier in the case of a
person we only hear. It is quite easy to be cruel towards a person we neither see nor hear." Bauman
adds two more conclusions: "The more rational is the organisation of action, the easier it is to cause
suffering - and remain at peace with oneself," and, "The effect of physical and purely psychical
distance is, therefore, farther enhanced by the collective nature of damaging action."

Richard Burns, Cambridge.

I would like to ask why everybody sidelined the
significant Ibrahim Rugova from the problem solving situation when it's known that he is the only elected representative of the Albanians of Kosovo ." KLA is not a national government but the rebel army of a militant and violent separatist movement...which is also an organised force which is killing innocent people."

"Incidentally, a related question that Western politicians and journalists have not been particularly curious about is how the KLA's weapons have been smuggled into Kosovo and where they have come from. Many of the arms have come through Europe and have been financed from Western sources as well as from Bosnia and Croatia and their allies. Western countries have progressively aided and abetted the Kosovo Albanians nationalist movement and so have helped the destabilisation of Yugoslavia and isolation of the Serbs.

Among the most prominent Western powers to have adopted the approach of actively destabilising Yugoslavia is Germany. Through is foreign minister Genscher, when the Berlin wall came down, the political leaders of the newly united Germany where the first ones to recognise the independence of Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, which suited their policy of economic "Divide and Rule" in central and eastern Europe."

Just read on another site:

Alert!! As of this morning, the KLA has received authorization to gather in front of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in NYC, impeding parishioners ability (or
presumably desire) to attend the Good Saturday evening service. The KLA got permission from the City to be there from 7-12 tonight. Of course, this is the same
city that named a street after Cardinal Stepinac, Ustasa collaborator.

Those Americans who think that by supporting the KLA they are backing a democratic movement should understand that the is the KLA's idea of "freedom of
religion" -- harrass people attempting to go to church. HOWEVER, THEY ARE IN THE US NOW, NOT KOSOVO, and as far as I know, the Bill of Rights still
hasn't been overturned, even for Serbs and other Orthodox.
As Robert Gelbard, US envoy to the Balkans stated last year of the KLA: they are terrorists...I know them when I see them." Incidentally Giuliani
is well aware of the connection between the heroin traffic and Albanian separatist movements. As Federal Prosecutor in 1987, he told the Wall Street Journal that
between 25-40 percent of the heroin coming into the US
came thru Albanian sources.

As many Serbs or other Americans who believe in the freedom of religion should come to St. Sava, but should keep their dignity and ignore the taunts of a terrorist
organization.

There is a big party of humanists held in North Albania. The latest guests are a large group of mujahedins lead by Osama bin Laden, who were spotted near the towns of Korca and Podgrade in North Albania. Up to 500 people are estimated to be there.

It is incongruous that the two parties responsible for this madness, NATO and KLA, are now working hand in hand to break up Yugoslavia.

Before KLA claimed to liberate Kosovo in 1996, there was peace in the province. Sure there were some isolated incidents and the Yugoslav army had to keep an eye out for trouble makers. You could live there in peace, although there were numerous programs that showed a large number of Albanian Kosovars had no intention to mingle with Serbs. When asked why they would not make friends, they said "we don't like them". Just like their satellite dishes oriented towards Italy, their mind was receiving information from anywhere but Serbia. Anti-Serb Propaganda started early, you could tell from this Albanian child's words recorded on Rai Uno once asked why she wasn't playing with other kids: "they're mean".

I suppose that once fast breeding and removal of some 40% of pre-World War II resilient Serbs is completed, all it takes is the right broadcasting to inform you that there are now 90% of you guys present in Kosovo (including illegal immigrants), creating KLA, et voilà: the region should be autonomous.

So you attract sympathy from international community, whom you convince that your cause is a just one. The US, eying a unique opportunity, move in and finance KLA, who were already helped by major Albanian businessmen in the world connected to drugs or not (CNN, Antenne 2-French TV): "We help our fellow men sending donations from the countries we reside in". That is, USA (New York), France, Germany, Switzerland, etc... Your uniforms look better and better, training is done in better conditions, arms get more sophisticate all the time.

As a KLA leader, you probably "just want" Kosovo. You do not really understand that you are manipulated by the great powers of this world. So you help them back, by informing NATO Headquarters of Serb army positions on the ground via satellite telephone (USA Today, 9th April 1999, reported by French journalists).

Your strategy hit a snag, though. The tanks have something to do with it, and definitely the fact that Serbs were not born yesterday and will die for their country, or rather what's left of it for the moment.

I know that the way NATO is eradicating Pristina and other places, I am afraid that KLA will be ruling over a kingdom of ruins hosting ghosts if they win.

Footsteps

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to him and the other to the Lord. When the last scene had flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints and noticed that many times along the path there was only one set of footprints in the sand. He also noted that this happened during the lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk all the way but I noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you the most, you deserted me."
The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
Anonymous
Peace and Good Night Kosovo!
PnW
FFFF
DdC
