"Squeezin NATO?"
Rather, trying very hard to be a part of it.
What's that 'KFOR' they painted on their tanks?

"style"?
They are under command of their own general,
but the general is under NATO command.
Great Russian "style".

"bold"?
Boldly stupid way of leading solders :
Boldly drop the men at the airport,
with no particular mission,
with no logistical support for food supply.
Thanx NATO for escorting their food supplies.
Thanx UNHCR for supplying them with food.

Bold, as bold as sending THREE SHIPS
that sat and did NOTHING.

"arrogant"
YES, and hungry too.
They won't really bite the hand that feeds them.
That would make them arrogant, hungry and stupid.

"Real paratroopers"
Fed by the UNHCR,
Now under the command of NATO,
(still with no particular mission)
Seeking an identity
seeking for a role to play
amidst the powerful nations of the WEST,
hanging-on to "having been" a super-power.
Living off past glory.

PATHETIC !

ARE YOU LEARNING, NICK ?

Learn this GOLDEN RULE :
THOSE THAT HAVE THE GOLD MAKE THE RULE.

Despite their show of "power" at the Airport,
the Russians walked away from Helsinki
with NOTHING they wanted,
no self-command, no Russian zone.

Now they are security guards at an Airport,
guarding NATO airplanes and interests,
while NATO controls the airport and airspace.

We didn't fight them with green tanks,
we beat them with green bills.

After 70 years of communism and poverty,
these are VERY GREEDY POLITICIANS AND GENERALS
..... and we have a lot of money.

Hey little girl - want candy?

LONG LIVE CAPITALISM !

GOD LIVES IN THE FREE WEST.

I have been following the Kosovo War closely and have even made a links page for most of the media sources ( http://www.essentia.com/guests/default.htm ) and have this comment:

The people here that are gloating and prancing about Russia's woes are as guilty of sowing the seeds of conflict as anyone I've seen. And the west is not so trustworthy and fair as people would make them out to be. For individual rights and freedom to be protected, the distribution of power equally throughout the world is necessary. Despite the shitty things the Russian military/political system has done in the past, denying the Russia people equal standing in the world will end up creating trouble for everyone. The Russians deserve major recognition for creating the peace plan that has now allowed the war to stop and prevented a ground war involving NATO troops. Them don't deserve being treated with disrespect.

Yes your right about one thing and that is that Russia deserves respect for putting a piece plan together and the war could end.1 think is only that i wish Milosevic would have accepted the piece treaty earlier then he wouldn't have got his people in this mess at all

But what i don't like is the fact that they barge in while the clearly knew when to mobelize.
And another shamefull fact is that other troops have to give Russian troops food, that not the soldiers fault, but very dumb.

KEEP THE RUSSIAN ROLE IN PERSPECTIVE

Since the start of the bombing,
the Russians gave Serbs the moral support
- and the necessary hope -
to hold-on and fight NATO.

The ambigious Russian position during the conflict
allowed Milo and crew to speculate on the
possibility that NATO would not hold.

The war would have ended in a matter of weeks,
- and the destruction would have been limited –
if the Russians had canceled their support for Milo early on
and placed they weight with NATO effort early on,
as they have today.

The only viable alternative to
DEFEAT AND CAPITULATION of Serbia
was the CHANCE of RUSSIAN INTERVENTION
- or their persuasion of NATO to stop the bombing.

In this sense the Russians
COLLABORATED / they contributed to
the PROLONGATION of the bombing
of the war and destruction of Serbia.

Nobody is "denying" the Russians anything.
But whatever they think they have the right to
they are going to have to EARN it,
instead of asking others to GIVE.

Funny enough, today Russians sit with the leaders of the West,
and "insist" on financial/reconstruction aid
for Serbia - even while Milosovic remains in power.

If the Russians feel so strongly about it,
then let them give Milosovic financial aid.
HA ! What a joke!

The Russians did not bring peace ... NATO bombs did.

TO ALL.
To give innocent Serbians and innocent Albanians help i have no problem with that, but where i do have a problem with is Milosevic receiving the help and not the people who need it most.

You can't have peace when that Bast*rd stays in power

He can only destruct, thats were his talents lie and his wifes talants lie.Lets not forget her either.

Unfortunately, You're not properly informed. Russians are not under the NATO control, they do not report to NATO, and if there's a conflict - Russians act on their own judgement.

The Russians thinking process about seizing the airport is similiar in motive to a group of students in most any high/middle school in America taking dibs on their favorite piece of the school yard and defending it from their advisaries. Warning off the other students so there is no witnesses to their wrong doings in there so called "section". Smoking, partying, and generally not being monitored; free to take whatever course that may present itself. "IN FOR A DIME-IN FOR A DOLLAR" the old saying goes!!!

What are they thinking of? Seizing control of an area of a Country that has been under NATO Peace Making Efforts-NATO Attack for weeks. First supporting the enemy and now against them-That Russia-not sure what to do but always the 'Fair Weather Freind". Wouldn't you say?

A perfect example of Russia-where it's Government is Powerless, It's leaders hated, and as always-some of it's factions hating the Western World.
Governmental Control is in CHAOS and it appears that anyone in a position of POWER can do what he wants to, including sending soldiers to take control of an airport.

Why were they so defiant to NATO? Why do they want a 'piece of the action so desperately'?

WOW, I can picture a short FAT MAN drunken with VODKA (The cash-cow product of such a prominent country) saying "WE MUST DO THIS FOR MOTHER RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Be aware of upcoming events in KOSOVO!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ice is thin under the platform of 'PEACE'.
The pot is simmering well now. We all have added many a strange ingredient to a pot full of Sadistic killers, Opportunistic Rapists, People with unknown motives, and others swelling with hate and revenge"!!!!!!!!!!

NATO- What in ever are you going to do?
AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
