What you need to do is look at the market leaders within this industry. If they have have been taking a huge hit within this down trend market, then you will have to decide if the IPO will take off. If you have been watching the tech stocks, there are a very few that have remained stable and have a good support level. Question, what do you think the support level is? If you think is within the range of the IPO, then it could be a very good buy, but if you do not think that the support level is that high, then you have to ask your self if you should participate in the IPO , and take the chance in the secondary market.

NEW YORK - AT&T and its bankers may have to sell shares in the phone company's wireless unit at the low end of a $26-to-$32 price range to attract buyers, investors say. AT&T is selling ''tracking'' shares in the biggest-ever U.S. initial public offering later Wednesday to raise as much as $11.5 billion. Investors may be unwilling to buy the 360 million shares at the high end of the range because stock in wireless companies such as Nextel Communications declined by about one-third from their peak in March. ''Some investors feel they should readjust the price of the offering,'' said Ed Larsen, chief equity officer at AIM Capital Management. The underwriters and the company ''think it's already being priced very competitively to its peer group. But buyers who are hesitant are hoping for a larger concession.'' The AT&T Wireless stock sale, at the top estimated share price, would far outpace United Parcel Service's U.S.-record $5.5 billion IPO last year.
