Stanislav,
Yes, Chechens were in Dagestan but do you know that they were called there by Dagestanians who asked for a help with getting rid of russians. In fact, that whole thing was arranged by russians with help of few dagestanians who were so loyal to russia. For some reason number of russian soldiers was increased in Dagestan long before Chechens got there.
That is true that kidnappings took place in Chechnya but not all of them were done by Chechens.I'm sure russia has given some hand with this too. The econimical blocade had some influence here too. And I would not call these people "terrorists", they are just criminal people. Every country has such people, especially a country that has experineced a war. The Chechen goverment has condemned Mr. Basaev's actions in Dagestan and actions of all other criminal people. I wish Mr.Basaev have been smarter and should not gone to Dagestan. He was fooled and his name is used now to justify the whole war that russia has started against little CHECHNYA. Mr.Basaev even gets called "an international terrorist" Has he done anything outside russia? Well, I understand, he has been in Budyonovsk, Russia. I think this means russia is recognizing Chechnya as an independent country. I cannot wait untill they do it officially.
Russians needed an excuse to start a war and they did work on creating there excuses. I do not think it is right to kill the whole nation because of few criminals. It is just an excuse, a propoganda.Russia is full of criminal people. Why don't they take care of them instead of going with a war against innocent people? Anyways, CHECHNYA WILL BE AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY. Russia WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOLD IT.

'Sanctions most dangerous weapon of mass destruction'A former U.S. official on Saturday said that economic sanctions are the most dangerous weapons of mass destruction on earth.
“The principle excuse that the U.S. uses to maintain sanctions is that of preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction,” said former U.S. attorney General Ramsey Clark. “Never doubt that sanctions is the weapon of choice for people in power. [Sanctions are] cheap, silent and like a bomb, but better, because they only kills people; they don't destroy property. So they can steal what's left when everyone else is dead.”

“Sanctions weaken and permanently debilitate the strongest of a society and kill the weakest and most vulnerable,” he said, alluding the often-repeated expression by leaders of the sanctions regime that the U.S. and U.N. have “no grudge” against the Iraqi people, but against the Iraqi regime. “Everyone knows that these are precisely the people that sanctions kill first.

HEY PIG BREATH!!!!

IN TEN days, a convoy of Jordanians will travel to Iraq to deliver more than two million lead pencils — banned under the U.S./U.N. economic sanctions — to Iraqi children.

adder21 yes I'm blamming saddam you ignorant dipshit. so you are saying that saddam is a good man and has nothing more in mind but the best of interests for his people, and that he is doing everything he can to help them. so answer the question, what happens to all the relief supplies that the UN states dissapear when the iraqi government gets a hold of them? I never stated that sanctions don't hurt a government, they do. It's up to that controlling government to make sacrifices for their people when they are hit by them. not squander their money on some crapy little army. so you are saying that it is more important for saddam to buy crappy little third world ak-47's and used russian junk than to feed the children of his counrty? who's fault is it. so you are a pro-saddam supporter? because of your beliefs is why you probably live in some poor economically challanged country.Idiot...

"...EAT YOUR OWN WORDS.."

What a style..

"...CHRISTIAN FUNDEMENTALISM AT ITS BEST..."

..Like your spelling :o) Before blaming things on "Christian fundementalism" (your invention, I guess?) study the history. All what you've mentioned is done by totally secular governments who have very little in common with Christianity. And really you don't have to travel to middle ages to look for examples of fundamentalism - just look at the modern time conflicts: Hindus against muslims (Kashmir), muslims against Jews (Israel), moslems against Christians (Yugoslavia, Indonesia, Sudan, Chechnya, etc). I am sure you are smart enough to find one common element in these combinations.
Muslim fundamentalism is a disgusting plague and people in the West start to realize it. The next step is to get rid of hypocritical political correctness and start to act..
