Yes, Fred those times are over. But..have you ever tried to teach an elderly person a different language. You if you have, then you know what I'm talking about. It's just doesn't go beyond being able to say: "hello", "my name is..", etc. I am very glad to know that your town's people are wise enough to see the difference b/in the gov. and the masses.

My views are based on empirical experience and research. I take into account all facts, not just the facts of the poor you try to look so good in defending. When was the last time you gave to a charity or lent a helping hand. So what part of this great nation do you live in and speak so terribly about? Why don't you get the fucck out? Empirical experience and research? Since that is always changing your views must then always be changing, and you are like a man blown by the wind and whipped by the waves, with no firm footing. Of course your views wouldn't be based on common sense.

That Americans always have to blow their trumpets in the streets or make a photo op when they give anything to a so-called charity just goes to show the American hypocrisy for what it is. They even have some political problem about that.

Lithuanians are diffeent.
I live in a town with 25% of russians and 75% of lithuanians and I can say there is no problem. Here lithuanians are even more tolerant toward russians than in the rest of Lithuania because they know them better. Families are pretty much mixed.
Poeple don't understand however why some elder women, living in Lithuania for 30 years is still unable to ask for a bread in Lithuanian.
There isn't such a problem with young russians who all speak perfectly both languages. It's more with old poeple especialy women who are used of the russianisation of the soviet times. But these times are over for ten years already.
It's stunning to see lithuanians watching russian TVprograms and understand so easily everything as they didn't notice the language is not theyrs.

As you say,in poland only extremists or old aristocrats only realy hate russians. The rest is only telling russian jokes.

Latvian may be different.
