Chechens are voting with their feet again.

"The fact that refugees began fleeing the village was only the first sign that the rebels are now there," said a Russian officer named Sergei, 31. "This is also confirmed by our intelligence reports."

De Ja Vu?Saturday 18 March 2000 Mujahideen Shatter the Russian Siege of Saadi-Yurt (Komsomolskoye)

Two weeks ago a small force of Mujahideen under the leadership of Mujahideen Field Commander Qalayev launched an attack against Russian forces at the foothills of the Chechen mountains. This unit shattered numerous Russian formations, killing large numbers of enemy troops and destroying numerous vehicles in a series of hit-and-run-attacks.

During the operation, the force of the Mujahideen was surrounded by massive enemy units in the village of Saadi-Yurt (referred to in the press by the Russian name of Komsomolskoye). The Russian Military laid a complete siege against the town and prepared to wipe out the small force of Mujahideen; Russian fighter bombers and attack helicopters bombarded the village incessantly in preparation for an imminent ground assault.

After several days of heavy shelling, the Russian Military launched a combined arms offensive (massive ground assault supported by heavy air and artillery bombardment) against the village. The Russians surged forth confident of victory, the
Western press declared a Russian victory before the fighting even started – the whole world trumpeted the advance of the Russian forces to what seemed to be annihilation of the small force of Mujahideen in Saadi-Yurt. Allah had other plans.

As in Grozny, the Mujahideen crushed the Russian attack; stunned by their failure and by the heavy losses they sustained, the Russians withdrew in confusion and resorted to renewed air and artillery bombardment. Russian reinforcements were sent to the village and a new attack was launched, the Russian generals were sure this time they would succeed. They would not. The Mujahideen crushed the second offensive, the third offensive, the fourth, and the fifth….Dazed and confused the Russians woke up to another surprise the besieged Mujahideen slipped out of the village without sustaining any losses and without being
detected by the Russians.

As in Grozny, a small, heavily outnumbered and outgunned force of Mujahideen ran the Russian Military around in circles: the enemy suffered massive losses in men and equipment and, terrorized by Allah’s warriors, did not even enter the abandoned village until three days after the Mujahdieen’s withdrawal. That was the story of Saadi-Yurt. There are 300 other villages in
Chechnya.

Russian Forces Establish New Defensive Positions

Following its heavy losses in a series of guerilla attacks by the Mujahideen, the Russian Military has retreated into a defensive posture and is establishing fortified positions in hope of staving of the Mujahideen onslaught. Mujahideen sources confirm that the Russian defenses include anti-personnel weapons, trenches and mines. The Russian Military’s change in tactics confirms the
fact that the Mujahideen have the initiative and are setting the rules of the battlefield in this war: The Russians are digging themselves into known defensive positions while the Mujahideen can choose when and where they want to attack. This
battlefield scenario brought about the defeat of Russian forces in 1996.

AND, GOD WILLING, THIS DEFEAT WILL BE REPEATED TOO

"I shall not shrug off threats in my address," said Acting federal President Vladimir Putin after Chechen terrorists sentenced him to death.

"I am looking the danger in the face, and trying to evaluate its actual extent. I can't afford to be careless, and I shall not expose myself - but I am not the one to show the white feather," he said to a news conference on a train as he was coming back to Moscow from Orekhovo-Zuyevo, a Central Russian industrial seat.

The Acting President referred to Salman Raduyev, a notorious Chechen warlord recently detained in bad mental health. "He and his ilk were long keeping the entire Russia in horror. Have you seen him now? He's no longer like a man - looks more like an animal. We shall drive all terrorists into a state like his." Mr. Putin said he enjoyed talking to people-in-the-street as he apologised to workers who could not address him in a factory he had visited in Orekhovo-Zuyevo. It was security to blame, sighed the Acting President. "The federal bodyguard service lives according to its own laws."

[By oleg: About me. I live in Woodside, CA, on the hills overseen San Francisco Bay. I like surfing and sailing. When I am not enjoying my time with my beautiful blonde girlfriend, I think and getting paid a LOT in cash and options for my thinking. My stack is skyrocketing like crazy and my 401 is wide and thick. Sweet!
I am from the nation of VICTORS.]

Payments in cash(!?), blonde, broken English... Sounds like a description of a crook. Little mishap with a role playing, I guess. It happens to a lot of Russian guys here.
We suck. Especially as a nation of "victors".

Dear Antonio,

1) You are using the guise of Human rights, EU law,and semi-rational arguement to voice what is no more than hate and racism.

2)Anyone who clings to religion as you do, is seriously lacking in other areas in their life.
I sense that you may have been damaged by life's cruelty, felt lost and alone and turned to religion for security.

3)Your grasp of European history is limited,I suggest you read more extensively on the Nazi-period. (particularly the role played by the catholic church in rounding up Jews in Germany and Austria). If you understood more about fascism, you might realise that you have simular views.

4) Terms such as "hell" and "the devil" are no more than superstition to me. There is nothing in the "spew" you have posted on this board that would convince me otherwise. It has been through being exposed to different cultures and beliefs as a child that I came to this conclusion. I learned from people who are wiser and more tolerant then you. What strikes me is that although I could get on with all of them, their religion was a barrier to them getting on with each other. I respect personal conviction, but not the bully tactics you are employing here.

Saturday 18 March 2000: Mujahideen Acknowledge the Capture of Salman Raduyev

After lies circulating in the Russian-Western Media about the dramatic operation carried out by the FSB (Russian Intelligence
Agency) to capture Field Commander Salman Raduyev, we would like to set the record straight and inform the World of the
truth about his capture.

After recently receiving shrapnel injuries to the head, Salman Raduyev was attempting to leave Chechnya for medical treatment.
He shaved his beard and disguised himself as he left towards Ingueshetia with two of his colleagues. At the
Chechen-Ingueshetian border he was recognised by two members of the Chechen Mafia whom he had previously purchased
weapons from. As Salman Raduyev was staying in a house near the Ingueshetian border, the two members of the Chechen
Mafia went and informed the Russians. The Russians raided the house in which he was staying and they captured him without a
single shot being fired since he did not have even a handgun with him at the time. He was subsequently taken to Moscow.

The Mujahideen have confirmed that Commander Raduyev played an important role in many operations during the first war.
And, although he took part in an operation in Gudermes last Ramadan, the Commander has largely not been involved in the
ongoing conflict due to his difficult medical condition. Commander Salman Raduyev’s capture, indeed the death or capture of
any commander, will not bring this Jihad to an end. That is in hands of none other than Allah Most High. This Jihad continues at
full strength, by the Will of Allah the Almighty.

This account dispels the false stories being circulated by the Russian-Western Media that a well-planned, special operation was
carried out and Salman Raduyev was captured under the noses of his 100 bodyguards. These stories were invented in order to
show Salman Raduyev's capture as a major Russian victory and to show the expertise of the Russian Intelligence Services. Even
though Salman Raduyev played a major role in the first Chechnya War in 1994-96 , his role in this War was very limited,
especially due to previous injuries. He took part in an operation in Gudermes last Ramadan. Salman Raduyev was sold by
traitors from amongst his own people; and there exists no strategy for an individual to protect himself against his own people
betraying him.

Despite the capture of Salman Raduyev, the Jihad in Chechnya continues because it is independent of personalities. The
Mujahideen are waging Jihad in Chechnya against the Russian Crusaders not for the the sake of a few individuals, but in
obedience to Allah's Commandment in the Quran, when He said:

"Fight in the Way of Allah those who fight against you, but do not transgress the limits, for verily Allah
loves not those who transgress limits." [Quran 2:190]

Even if Field Commanders Khattab and Basayev are killed, the Jihad in Chechnya will continue until the Promise of Allah comes
to pass: Victory on the Battlefield or Martyrdom in His Way. The Mujahideen are fighting for Allah, not for personalities. Field
Commanders Khattab and Basayev happen to be the ones that the World knows about. There are many more like them that
the World does not know about now, but will do when the time comes, insha-Allah.
