i cannot find the words to express the horror of the scenes my family have watched on t.v. my youngest daughter has had nightmares about this terrible attack. no religion or its followers can justify this outrage. now is not the time to speak of revenge but that hour will surely arrive and we the peoples of the lands of the free will sit in judgement. we offer you our deepest sympathies and heart felt condolences. after watching your rescue services may we say america is truly the land of the brave.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and have been since Tuesday morning and will be for many months to come. May God help you to cope with your great losses, comfort those who are still waiting for their loved ones to be found, those injured, and to the many, many volunteers who are working so very hard to find everyone missing. The province of Manitoba had a minute of silence for all of you today and I also attended church at lunch time and prayed and prayed for each and everyone affected by this horrific tragedy. No words can ever erase the pain you are all feeling but hopefully give you some comfort. My family and I want you to know that we are constantly thinking about you and hoping for the best for the missing loved ones. God Bless You All.

HI
My mum died of cancer 9 months ago I found this poem whilst checking her handbag, she meant me to find this. She knew she was going to die and this was her Good Bye now! I post this here, in hope that this means either comfort or sense to anyone who has suffered a loss in this horrible act of terror, I felt both and still do.

If I should go before the rest of you,
Break not a flower, nor inscribe a stone,
Nor, when I’m gone, speak in a Sunday voice,
But be the usual selves that I have known.
Weep if you must:
Parting is hell,
But life goes on
So... sing as well!

Mairi

Iraq is the only place I can think of that has lost thousands in ONE day. That is directly due to US attack by use of aforementioned weaponry. By nature of DU ammunition, these people are still dying of disease (PLUS, the water is contaminated with DU, AND they're not allowed to import medication). Anyway, apart from that, I only specifically know of situations where our government continues to provide severely oppressive regimes (eg. James Taylor in Liberia; Ariel Sharon in Israel) with weapons that have killed tens of thousands of people over the decades (needless to say, they've been living in utter fear all of this time). If you do not require similar bodycount (remember, few other countries have skyscrapers in which you could kill so many people at once), you can include the bombing of Afghanistan after the 1993 WTC bombings. I don't know how many died, but innocent people had to die or live terrified. And then all the various South American countries... I'd have to get back to you with more on those - don't know much. Well, obviously I don't know much in the first place - I'm happy you reminded me to go back and do more homework 🙂

mainly, i'm concerned about how many more civilians will die without us hearing about it. At least not until reports are revealed a lot later.

Our question on this whole topic is...how long is it going to take us to find the "Persons" who are responsible for this whole thing...and what the hell are they going to do about it...We are glad to hear that all the countries are going to help..except for the ones who were dancing in the streets

Just as bad:

"Over 5,000 Iraqi children under five are dying each month from malnutrition and disease directly related to the sanctions." -UN statement

This means that ALONE among kids under the age of 5, we have killed more than half a million with sanctions. If you then include DU-weapon-related deaths AND all age groups, it is a lot sadder than what happened on Tuesday. It is almost the same as what happened during the Holocaust of World War 2. Except in this case, the numbers are still climbing. This is the last thing I want to see happen again.

To Our Close Friends *** United States of America

Our deepest sympathy goes out to all the families and friends who lost loved one's in Tuesday's attack. We also send our hope to those who are still missing. Miracles can happen...

Just remember you're never really alone... there are people who are with you in spirit and who are praying for you.

Footprints:

Last night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged to me, the other to the Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of suffering, when you could see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Your in our thoughts and in our prayers,

The Walker/Wonta family

Three days past and I still can not believe and comprehend what happened. Everytime I see those horrible images my heart goes out to all of those who are suffering. All our hearts are with you.

Let us all hope that this horrible event will not lead us to a third world war but rather unite the world to make it a better one.
