A earthquake, measuring 5.2 magnitude, struck close to the seaside town of Marmaris shortly before four a.m. (0100 GMT).

I wish you all the best. I'll pray for you. I hope no one lost a friend or a family member (though I'm sure you all did, no offense).

My husband and I pastor a small church in Lexington Park, Maryland. We have collected donations of material goods such as clothing, tents, blankets, and winter coats for the people in Turkey who were left homeless by the August earthquake. I had found the Turkish Embassy on the internet who had recommended a shipper in New Jersey offering free shipping. I contacted the shipper and discovered they are no longer shipping for free (it's too costly).

Could you please offer assistance in offering suggestions of how I can get material goods shipped to Turkey at little or no cost? We have collected 8 to 10 large boxes of materials, but as a small church cannot afford the shipping. Please help.

Sincerely,

Darlene Winans

I am looking for Osman Erturk. (His nickname is "Shakir"..I am not sure if I spelled that correctly.) He works for Diana Travel as a driver. I met him last year when I was in Istanbul. I am wanting to make contact to see that he and his family are okay. I do not speak Turkish and so I am at a disadvantage. If you know him, please tell him to contact me through email and I will help anyway I can. Heartfelt thanks. Sandi Webb email: @aol.com">TnhrHrt100@aol.com

To Finlay & Linda Morrison
There is a web page with database of "Persons of Known Status" and "Missing Persons" in the earthquake, where you can search for someone. However, the information is limited because perhaps no one institution posess the complete list you need. I hope the web page indicated below will help you:
http://www.ulakbim.gov.tr (Deprem Haberlesme Panosu - English Version). Best regards.
