Kim,

Aha! I get it now. YOU are looking for controversy, and I'm suppose to supply the catalyst. Is that it?

Normally, I'd jump on it. But, alas, at the moment I haven't the time - working on a fast-track software project and only have a little time to do all my normal web stuff, mostly only on week-ends.

>> [...]Don't talk to me about semantic subleties.

OK, then; it wasn't a "subtle" difference between what I wrote and what you understood. Rather, you misunderstood what I wrote or, perhaps, read it the way you wanted to understand it. Either way, it obvious.

OK? How's that? Better? No subtle semantics.

>> What's all this about intellectual Whores? <<

That was in reference to Jared Israel's article about Susan Sontag, wherein he takes aim at elitist American intellectuals who slobbered all over themselves supporting the US-led NATO aggression on Yugoslavia and how they have become little more than prostitutes for the empire.

"cheeky bench", eh? Close enough to "fiesty little scrapper" to indicate that Mr. "L" and myself may have a similar perspective going here.

ciao,

t'gunns

BTW - I don't take these forums too seriously anymore. The internet is NOT real life. I enjoy playing with words and ideas, so it's just an amusement. Nothing more. Sure beats television, or pinball machines!

M'sieu G....

Williams, one of the two remaining major
manufacturers of pinball machines [along w/Bally]
has thrown in the towel in regards to pinball
machines.

and no more weekly taco-bell-and-pinball at the
mall pour moi; the pinball machines at the vidgame
place have been replaced by more 'contemporary'
vidgames...[yuck, says the old guy -_-]

yeah, i know, more serious discussions here;
'sokay, another will be along real soon.

Kim,

I'd love to have a discussion, even a rip-roaring controversial one (those are the best), but I really don't have the time right now. I'm up at 6:00AM, back home about 7:00PM, read the mail, have a bite (sometimes I cook), take care of personal business (pay bills, do laundry, clean house, etc. - all those mundane activities that keep me in the human race (sort of), and believe me, it is a race living in America -- my favorite "revealing" bumper sticker is "Americans are driven to work". It's true, we work harder and longer than any other peoples, and what for? It doesn't get most people anywhere, just running to stay in the same place. Yeah, it's crazy. What can I say, except that we Americans have allowed a culture of madness to take hold and the "system" has taken on a life of it's own driving us all insane. Enough! Enough!

and then I read:

>> Wot iym seying like, iz like, U orl agre wid eech-udder, so like ders no descushion ere.

Iz dat luckin for controvissy???? <<

...and I'm thinking maybe you're crazy!!

:O) :O) :O) :O) :O) :O) :O) :O) :O)
